Description:
The National Alliance to End Homelessness recently issued a report titled State of Homelessness in America. This is a research report utilizing point-in-time data from communities across the country and comparing data gathered in January 2008 with data gathered in January 2009. After reading the report, the Men’s Shelter quickly compiled a brief comparison of the state and national data with point-in-time count data from Charlotte-Mecklenburg County for the same time periods, as well as looking at local data comparing 2009 to 2010. The Men’s Shelter’s goal in providing this information is to promote the NAEH report and continue the dialogue about homelessness in our community. Both reports are provided in this post for your convenience.
